The breakfast was delicious. It is a really special place and one that our kids will definitely remember.

United StatesThe meal was inspirational and the chef was so kind and carefully explained all the dishes to my wife and I, even though we spoke no Japanese. The passion and love show in each dish.
The room is hyper modern, I was blown away. The open air bath was blissful, and all the little touches like free snacks,beer, ramen etc
The other staff were kind and helpful and brought my wife some items she needed ASAP.

You might want to go to Himuro Shrine (氷室神社) for a quieter location to admire the cherry blossoms (during spring) and to feed the deer with less competition from other tourists! Is very busy and packed with tourists in peak season.
Is very busy and packed with tourists in peak season. The deer closer the entrance are very aggressive so will charge you and bite your clothes to get biscuits. Go further up the park to get some peace and quiet and meet calmer deer. Also, some tourists will feed wrappers and ice cream to the deer thinking it is funny. We woke up to sights of deer wandering right in the vicinity outside the hotel. The staff here were particularly lovely and we experienced safe to say the best service of our whole trip to Japan at this hotel. The dinner and breakfast were extremely tasty and though there wasn't any washing facilities on the premises the hotel staff were very helpful in recommending a coin laundry store very close to the hotel.
