Wat Xieng Thong

One of Luang Prabang’s ‘32 shimmering temples’, this sacred shrine is often hailed as the loveliest in all of Laos. Wat Xieng Thong has been a place of worship since 1559, and Buddhist monks still meditate in its hallowed halls and peaceful gardens today.     I reached the by tuk-tuk. Check-in was swift, with staff explaining local markets and boat tours. My private bathroom gleamed, and the linens smelled freshly laundered. Nice view. Excellent location steps from Wat Xieng Thong.
