Amazing view, very specious! The owner and his helpers were super nice 👍 Very romantic that you go by boat ( free of charge) to the ocean, the ocean near is super clean, big and not crowded.

A truly exceptional small hotel near one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. We stayed for two nights at first and after a few nights in Galle we returned to Villa Bentota given that the hotel was just so good. The hotel buildings and interiors are really beautiful and clean. The room is cleaned in the morning and the staff also enquires if there is a need to do a second cleaning later during the stay. The surroundings are exceptional. All of the staff at the hotel very helpful (although at least one of them was only in it for the tips) and very professional. Special thanks to Chamod and Malith. The breakfast was amazing and the best we had in the 7 hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka. Lunch and dinner were great as well, offering the option to cook essentially whatever the client likes (of course within limits).

A very cute property in Bentota. The resort is really amazing, worth staying. The beach is just a small walk away, crossing the rail path- which gives another wonderful experience. The food is simply amazing.. The best we had in our trip to Sri Lanka. Special mention to the wonderful Chef and all the staff for the wonderful hospitality

I cannot write an objective review for the place since from me this was like a pilgrimage because I am just a huge fan of Geoffrey Bawa. Just being there was a dream come true! The staff is exceptional, very thoughtful and well mannered. The small touches like the happy hour where they serve home infused gin and tonic ( Bawa’s favourite) by the Lunuganga is an experience in itself. The sense was of history , his whimsical sense of design , his attention to detail is a learning in itself.. What a legacy !

Fabulous location right on the beach, property beautifully maintained staff highly attentive throughout our stay. Food was amazing, a good selection of wine and cocktails available for pre dinner drinks. Having lived in Sri Lanka for the last 13 years we have stayed in a lot of properties and hotels across the island but Villa Thamburu is certainly up there with the very best.

Bentota has everything you’d want from an idyllic beach. Its golden sands stretch for miles, fringed by turquoise waters on one side, and swaying palms on the other.
