The welcome and check out gifts surprised me, it was such a nice touch! The hotel design is unique, cozy, the garden of the hotel is calming, with cute birds chirping around, and some nice plants. The breakfast was tasteful, and the staff of the hotel very kind! In terms of location, everything was very close, super centric location, safe, and with very good vibes. Oaxaca is amazing as it is, and this hotel just added to the exceptional time we had there.

This small boutique hotel has only 4 rooms but has the most outstanding architecture and design (executed by a well know local artist). I spent most of my time when at the hotel admiring all the wonderful minor design details, taking notes of things I may want to incorporate in my upcoming home! The staff was very nice as was the breakfast service! We had little to no language problem as a Manager would visit every morning for a few hours and help us settle down / get what we needed. Down town was a 10min walk. With our lux suite came the most charming varanda seating, facing an exquisite courtyard - where we spent memorable evenings. Lovely place.

    We paid for a shuttle bus (no tour included) and used a local guide for a 2 hour walk around the area with lots of information provided. We had a small group, which made the interaction more personal. A must-see!

    Take a green touristico bus out and hire a guide when you get there. Our guide was soo great! Very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Wish i remembered his name. Eduardo I think. 🤷‍♀️ Also, go early in the morning. Less direct sun. No shade there. Be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen and maybe a sarong to cover up. Have fun! We'll worth the trip.

    Great pre-Maya (Zepotlan) site.

    Great pre-Maya (Zepotlan) site. Plan on staying at least 2-3 hours. It's about 30-60 mins from the main square in Oaxaca, depending on the traffic which can be really bad. From entrance, there is a lot of uphill walking and it is not very accessible to those with walking issues. Spectacular views of the complex as well as of the City below.

    Still incredible, was here 40:years ago, trees have grown. Tunnels cordoned off now which is imperative for preservation. Enjoyed more so this visit as it was a guided tour with great guide, Anne. So heard informative talk about Monte Alban.
