Might seem small but it packs a big punch... The art work is amazing, the story behind Frida and all of the adversity she overcame. Traveler tip, if you are going and you can, try to schedule for the last Wednesday night of the month, special live enactment of Frida's life by a local performing arts group. We were lucky enough to catch it. Not really known.

    Buy tickets online in advance.

Buy tickets online in advance. Watch the 2002 movie, "Frida," to get an idea of how Kahlo's family lived. Take a free walking tour of Coyocan before or after the museum to see the neighborhood. Also try to visit the Rivera-Kahlo studio in San Angel for a more complete idea of how Kahlo and Rivera worked and lived - it is also quite small https://inba.gob.mx/recinto/51

the tour of the house is nice, gives you a close look into her personal life from childhood up until her death, a lot of person items are still there to see. If you are a Frida Kalo fan this is a must
