The place feels like a 5 star resort right in the middle of the jungle and next to the Palenque ruins. The rooms are big and the bathroom is fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is nice and warm. Especially after a long day of traveling or visiting the Palenque ruins, it's nice to relax in the pool.

Palenque Ruins

This ruined temple was never quite finished. It was going to be the largest Doric temple in existence, but Sicily was overrun by the Carthaginians, who sacked it – and a series of earthquakes toppled the rest. What’s left is a tantalising succession of columns and a couple of enormous, cracked figures of Atlas that lie on the floor. It takes a leap of imagination to envisage it in its heyday, though its ruins possess a mystique that a pristine monument simply can’t.

    Nice ruins.

    Nice ruins. Some are still accessible, the centre court unfortunately not. You cannot get inside the main ruin anymore. Very expensive (parking is mandatory, minivan to go there, entrance fee is high and guides are super expensive). Again, very nice ruins but the Mexicans are a bit ruining the experience by milking the tourists. At a point in the future, people will just start looking it up on internet and tourism will collapse... Sad...

    The jungle noises at night. Our resident frog in the shower visitor was kinda cute and harmless. Really close to the Palenque ruins, quick shuttle bus along there. Nightly entertainment if you fancied it, local music, fire juggling & other stuff.

    The Africa room was really good - so spacious and the kitchen which is under cover and outside(!) is really well equipped and very clean. The bedroom has two comfortable beds and shower has hot water! 👍Not everywhere we have stayed in our tour in Mexico has 😡 Very large supermarket within a few minutes walk. Our reason for staying is that we wanted to be near to the Palenque Ruins which is only 20 minutes drive.

    The location is the best. Is the closest hotel to the Palenque ruins; you can arrive there on foot. The huts are very comfortable, although the beds are a bit small for tall/large people. It was super nice to be surrounded by nature and we had the chance to see and hear a lot of monkeys! The restaurant there is nothing special but good enough.

    Good value for money in a very nice, calm area. 3 min to ADO bus station and collectivos for Palenque ruins, city center also very close and restaurants also. Staff was amazing and supported us in everything. We had all what we need and since our bus left very late at the checkout day we spent all the time in the hostel.

    Absolutely loved the jungle setting and the fact that it's not too polished. We saw frogs, iguana and agoutis on the hotel grounds. And, of course, it's fantastically close to the entrance of the Palenque ruins.

    Pool was beautiful and room was very large. Breakfast was good with a range of options. The hotel organised a day trip for us to the Palenque ruins and Agua Azul which was great. (Miisol Ha was closed.) Cost 750 pesos and started at 9 AM.
