The museum is excellent and a brilliant place to visit.

The museum is excellent and a brilliant place to visit. My eldest daughter is a Van Gogh fan and she absolutely loved it all. I only had to pay for myself to visit the museum as both my kids are under 18 which I thought was really good. Britain could learn a thing or two from this. It’s very accessible and transport links are great. I would recommend the museum to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

All entry has to be pre-booked so get the earliest you can to avoid some of the crowds. The numbers are awful and the congestion builds as idiots need "selfies" with the pictures!!! Crowd management is not a strong point of this art gallery.

Tells a beautiful story. Cafeteria at the Van Gogh Museum used to be great - very fresh salads and courses, etc.. Instead, new management brought in, serving salty and greasy food using a VERY LIMITED and boring menu.

Beautifully curated museum run by the Van Gogh family in memory of Vincent. Very personalized museum and includes excerpts from personal letters as well as art from Vincent's artist friends/circle. Fantastic gift shop. Must book in advance. Allow for 90 minutes to go through the museum in an unrushed pace.

Book your time before you leave the country because you can't buy a ticket in person; only online. When you are in Amsterdam booking for VanGogh is challenging because of the security code that needs to be sent to your cell phone but rarely gets through because of issues connecting the phone. Basically booking once there is a nightmare.

There is 10 min walking distance between the hotel and Van Gogh Museum. The street where the hotel is located was so quiet but so safe. We stayed at the most little room. Because the room has a high ceiling, we never felt uncomfortable. Coffee and tea was suitable every time. The staff was so kind.

It was a great location in Amsterdam (close to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, but also 25 min walk with views of the canals to the very centre - the metro was just two stops there as well). The location is also good in terms of the airport - take a train to Amsterdam Zuid and then the underground/metro three stops. The single room was small, but well set out so it felt like you had enough space.

The location was great, right around the corner of the Van Gogh Museum. The staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. The bathrooms and everything was very clean. They provided robes for you to wear to the bathroom, which felt very fancy and they had music playing softly in the bathrooms which was able to mask any noise.

The hotel was located near the van gogh museum and other main museums. It was easy to walk around the city and behind the hotel was a huge park (very beautiful). The personal at the hotel were very kind and helpful. We also liked the loft room we had, it gave us space from each other.

Observing the coordination of bikes, cycles, cars, buses, trams, pedestrians...it was all so interesting. The ride on the canal was beautiful...the structure of the city and how it all comes together. The visit to the Van Gogh museum to see the work of one of my favorite artists.
