Very modern gallery setting out many works by Munch (but not The Scream which is in the National Museum) and telling his story which is fascinating. we easily spent 3 hours there. Bar/restaurant on top floor exhorbitant.; cafe on ground floor reasonable. Great views across the harbour area as well.

"The Scream" was there when we visited (Aug 24) but be warned its usually in the National Gallery not the Munch Museum. (National Gallery being refurbished currently). Looks like there are 13 floors, but really only about 3 with Edvard Munch paintings etc

Unbelievable - we walked here and so before viewing "The Scream" we opted for a little break at the Sky bar. The views are not to be missed and it was just what we needed before hitting the floors of artwork. Amazing building and an outstanding tribute to the work of Edvard Munch.

We felt truly welcomed by Natalia, who was so kind and helpful. The apartment immediately felt like home – clean, beautifully designed, and with everything we needed. Its location couldn’t be better: close to the Munch Museum, Opera House, and Deichman Bjørvika, and surrounded by nice restaurants, shops, plus a lovely ice cream place we really enjoyed. Staying here made our time in Oslo extra special. Absolutely 10/10!

The apartment is located in a good place, a short walking distance from the Opera and Munch museum, as well as close to the newly developed neighborhood of Bjorvika. It is also very close to the Oslo Central station. It has everything necessary for a nice stay in the capital. It was also very nice that we could have stored the luggage at the 'reception'.

Location is in the new Soren area which is a short walk to the marina, the opera and the Munch museum. Staff were always responsive. The apartment itself was quite standard but clean and quite new.

Beautiful, comfortable, clean, fully-equipped apartment with nice views in a modern, newly developed neighborhood by the sea, very close to Munch museum and the Opera. Just outside there are restaurants, cafes and supermarket. Parking also just a few steps away. The saunas nearby with a dive into the sea is a must!!!

Exceptional apartment. Beautiful comfortable spotlessly clean and spacious apartment with lots of thoughtful and much appreciated inclusions. Great location and easy walk to Oslo attractions including Royal Palace, Aker Brygge, Vigeland Sculpture Park and Munch Museum. There are many restaurants nearby, and there is also a tram stop a few steps along that among other places can get you back to Central Station.

Booked the comfort double and for the price it was great. The staff was really friendly, room was clean, the a/c runs nonstop which is a plus in the summer, hotel is just across the central station and also close to the Munch museum and the Oslofjord cruise. If you’re travelling alone then this hotel is the best choice for you.

What guests said about Munch Museum:

  • Leave the hotel. Walk to the main train station, Oslo S.

Leave the hotel. Walk to the main train station, Oslo S. Buy a 24 hour ticket to all the public transportation in Oslo. (90 NOK) Get on the train for 2-3 stops to The Munch Museum (Tøyen station). Then back 3 stops to the city (Nasjonalteateret) and the National Gallery (where Munchs scream and madonna hang out). Eat your packed lunch and drink excellent cappuccinos at "Fuglen" and walk the 200 meters up hill to the Kunstindustrimuseet. You can use the same ticket to get in as at the National Gallery. Then walk back down hill the 15 min to the private modern art museum of Astrup Fearnly. Take it all in (including the seascape) and head over, along the docs to the public modern art museum Samtidskunst Museet (and use that ticket again) It is within 15 min walk. And if you can take in anymore art at this time, get on a tram or train headed to "Majorstua" for the amazing sculpture park of Gustav Vigeland: "Vigelandsparken" and use all the storage left on your phone... (if any... all the museums will let you take photos without flash!) Did this in 3 days + theatre at night - so fun - so tired ;)
