I was actually looking for a hotel at Geirengar but none was available so had to settle for this one (on 1.25 hour drive+ferry). But I actually was later thankful for it, as this place+hotel potentially was the best possible option for a calm peaceful stay, with access to beautiful surroundings and daily drives. I covered Geirengar, The Atlantic Road, and Trollstigen on daily trips with using this hotel as my center station for a relaxing on a comfy evening. A cot and high chair were available. Good shower and summer curtains. Delicious evening meals. Incredible location - both within Valldal itself and for exploring Trollstigen, Ålesund, Hellesylt and Gerainger. Room was very comfortable and breakfast buffet had a good choice of options. Great to have free tea and coffee all day - we do like our tea! The restaurant manager , a Brazilian lady, was just chirpy and accommodating. The place is about 6kms from Valdall town enroute to trollstigen.
