Location was nice. We were upgraded to one of the deluxe outside units where we could park right outside. Rooms did have a funny smell but could have been the sulfur in the air. Room and bathroom were clean. Beds were comfy. Great value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

An amazing place just on the edge of Rotorua where you can...

An amazing place just on the edge of Rotorua where you can see geothermal features with surreal steamy landscapes, boiling water pools, bubbling mud pools and geyzers blowing spouts of water. It's well worth going on a guided tour to hear the history of the village and to gain an appreciation of how the residents have taken advantage of the unlimited and freely available hot water in their daily lives.

The Thermal Reserve was very interesting and unique.

The Thermal Reserve was very interesting and unique. Sadly, the reception we received before entering through the main gate into the reserve was very disappointing. It left us a little shocked by the way we were treated.
