    excellent breakfast, creamy fluffy eggs! delicious watermelon yoghurt! great pastries! Marvao Castle is in one sense quite primitive - do not forget that it was built approx 875-900 AD as a defence against the emirs of Cordoba. In another sense, it is one of the greatest castles I have ever seen... Marvao is a jewel... and so is the Pousada de Marvao

    The hotel, modern, clean and comfortable beds. Easy to park, with the river swimming pool round the corner and a path that takes you to Marvao castle in a half hour easy walk. Good breakfast

    The hosts are wonderful! Warm, friendly and very helpful. Keen to engage in meaningful conversation. The room was pleasantly decorated and spacious. Off-street parking provided. Wonderful view of the Marvao Castle lit-up at night from just outside the the property.
