What a great location! There is parking right outside, and the village is everything you could ask for. We did not eat at the restaurant as we prefer to eat early, but the breakfast was excellent.

Perfect newly restored hotel. Impossible to fault room, hotel or staff. Excellent breakfast. Also, the normal parking problems of Castello de Vide as there is a car park behind the hotel which always had spaces.

This 3-star hotel is located in Portagem, on the banks of the Sever River, where guests can enjoy a public pool. It has free WiFi and views of the historic village of Marvão.

This was the best hotel experience I had in Portugal. The hotel was easy to find, the staff was friendly and accommodating and everything worked very well. Wifi was excellent and I even had some heat (as the weather had turned chillier approaching winter). The hotel is located at the base of the "mountain" that Marvao - the medieval city and palace occupy and is only about 6 miles from the Spanish border. If I ever return to this area, I will definitely stay at the Sever Rio Hotel!
