Best time to do umrah and tuwaaf is from asar till fajar. if u want to go in mutaaf and want to do tuwaaf near kaba then you must wear ehram. For the first timer, make sure you carry a small backpack that carries you slippers, medicine, 500 ml water bottle, regular belt, large head scarf (protect against scorching heat).
