Joachim and the team made us feel instantly at home. It was more of a homestay than a hotel. Wonderful food served in a living room with kitchen and fireplace. As a bonus, the host is a great source of information about the local region and travel in Rwanda in general. Certainly was one of the most memorable parts of our trip in the area.

Great place to stay if you are discovering Mgahinga National Park. Right in the local village. The place was very clean, breaky was yummy. The food at the restaurant (which is about 1km away) was really delicious too. Emma (staff of accommodation) has helped us out so much. Directing us into the right direction of where to start our gorilla trekking. Helping with organazing the golden monkey trek. Helping when there was any problem at the accommodation itself. He took us on a walking tour around the village and we had a fun game of volleyball with him and his friends. He accompanied us everywhere we went. I can highly recommend this place. I would stay there again no doubt. Thank you Emma so much for everything.

Sambora is a hidden gem! The rooms are thoughtfully and tastefully put together with every creature comfort you would want! The bathrooms are huge and modern! We loved all the touches from the slippers, to the personalised cards, the crackling fires in the rooms and the food was a real show stopper! Every meal was delicious and exciting! The team are so friendly ( big shout out to Khai!) and are hands on and couldn’t do enough to make us feel at home!
