I loved every glimpse of it! It's definitely more modern than others, also, the TV was connected with the iPad (from the room) & you could stream anything easily with your phone. Very central, clean, awesome staff! & Self check-in. For American breakfast, it was very good, also healthier options!

The boutique hotel was lovely, clean, the continental breakfast selection was more like a "European style" --full on menu (i.e.,beverages- juices, teas, coffee, espresso, hot entree with assortment of breads, pastries, spreads, fruits, cold entrees, etc.). The food was excellent. The quality of the food and beverages were exceptional! The morning dining room staff were professional and courteous and not intrusive to guests while dining. but, if you needed to order an item from the dine in menu the staff was there to take your order and worked efficiently. The dining room was clean and setup lovely. The staff always kept the food area replenished and very clean! We also enjoyed the 24 hour availably for in room dining. My husband and I will definitely be returning soon to stay at Hotel Drisco. The 24 hour parlor room service with hot and cold beverages with light snacks was a welcome treat especially the biscotti! Nice to come back to the Hotel and relax in the parlor room with a beverage and have a snack. The selection of quality teas were very nice. All the Hotel Drisco staff from bell men, front desk, dining room and housekeeping were professional and courteous especially, Tanjay! Our room was clean and very comfortable...housekeeping staff always kept our room very clean...like the bed and bath linens too!

We did the behind the scenes tour and it was boring. Not worth the money at all, they focus more on when it was a military base and not a federal prison. I’d also question the safety of people being able to walk around buildings as the guides were quick to warn us about flaking lead paint and not to touch but no mention of the potential for disturbed asbestos from the damaged walls and ceilings. Due to the age of the building I’d say it would be present. If you do go, do the self guided tour

    Great trip out.

Great trip out. If I remember rightly They may not take Ames cards. The boat comes in slowly to the rock and is regular. There is audio directions as you go round for free and it was really interesting the diverse population imprisoned there and the statistics were amazing. Really informative.

You can use the museum audio or your own telephone with a QR code if you do this take your own headphones for comfort. Go really early before the crowds. You can’t eat on the island. Know as much as you can before arriving it will enhance your visit

Good place to in Fisherman's Wharf to explore San Francisco. Alcatraz ferry is just a 20min walking distance away. We only stayed in the hotel to sleep. Everything was clean and the room offered everything we needed and was silent enough to sleep well.

Did wonder if Union Square was a good location, we found out that is was. We tend to walk a lot (yes even in San Francisco) and we found that Union Square fitted well into our plans. China Town, The piers for Alcatraz, Ashbury Haight

The hostel is in a fantastic location beside the aquatic park cove and walking distance from lots of San Francisco's tourism big hitters. From the grounds you have excellent views of both Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. The building is part of the historic Fort Mason and the hostel makes great use of the architecture.

Great location if you are visiting San Francisco and are planning to do the usual tours such as Alcatraz, Golden Gare Bridge. Easy walk to Fisherman’s Wharf. The lobby area and access to games made for easy entertainment. Hotel was very clean and well equipped. There is a pool area which we didn’t use but looked good. Access to bicycles is also available. Grab and go snack service available in bar/lobby area. Minimal dealings with reception staff but any we had the staff were extremely professional and helpful.

A great hotel with a spacious comfortable room. Lovely decor. The hotel doesn't look amazing from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised when we got to our room. There is a hop on hop off stop not far from the hotel and pier 39 is easily walkable as is the Alcatraz ferry

The area has a feel of old wharf side San Francisco, some great bars and restaurants. The area has a great view over the bay and even a little beach looking out over Alcatraz, which is worth a visit. Can hire bikes to explore the area or take an Autonomous Waymo taxi - that's an experience! The hotel is modern with all the facilities and an amazing breakfast. Would definitely stay here again if I have the chance to come back.

The accommodation met all my expectations. The room was large enough and oriented to a quiet street with a beautiful view of the entire neighborhood. I also liked the quality of the windows. Visitors will appreciate the proximity of dining establishments and the nearby marina with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. I love this place and will definitely come back here. The trolley stop is right in front of the hotel and the line goes directly to the center.

Number 1 attraction is Alcatraz and you can't come here without visiting. Amazing experience. However this was probably surpassed by cycling over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and taking the ferry back. You will get amazing photos of the bridge doing it this way. World Series Baseball was on during our trip to California which San Francisco were in and eventually won which added an extra buzz to the city. In our time in San Francisco the Giants were in Kansas but the whole city was alive with Giants talk. Buy a MUNI visitor passport. At the start of the day you'll want to walk everywhere but those hills take their toll and you'll be glad you can jump on any bus, streetcar or cable car later in the day

Try the Big Bus an excellent way to see this large and varied city. Try later in the year the weather is good and the summer travellers will have gone home. A trip to Alcatraz island is worth the time but book before you arrive to avoid disappointment. If the crowds overwhelm you head for the Haight or the Golden Gate park where there is space for all.

Alcatraz is the most prominent tourist thing to do but if you don't want to spend an afternoon there, or tickets are sold out (get them in advance btw), just waking along the pier there is loads to see. If you only have a few days there, a good way to see the city is the bus tours.
