If you go anywhere in Homosassa, go here!

If you go anywhere in Homosassa, go here! It was the most amazing state park, the animals there are all rescued or being rehabilitated. The staff are all incredibly knowledgeable and truly care for the animals. We saw their 4 resident manatees, some of which will be released but others who now call it home. In the winter months they open up the springs to wild manatees for protection during the cold months. They also have a 60 year old hippo, alligators, otters, bobcats and countless birds who are all free to fly around the park and leave if they want to, but the fact they all remain is a credit to the park.

Wonderful give yourself enough time to see the feeding of the Manatees and to wander through the whole park, say hi to the African hippo and take the river boat excursion. There are a several good restaurants in the area and plenty of various starred rated accommodations and camping.
