Spend the day at "The botanical gardens" this is a beautiful vision of peacefulness. You can take a dog on a lead if you have one and don't forget to take a picnic with you. There are plenty of places to park your seat and view from many places on the trails. In the forested area overlooking a stream or on the cliff sides gazing at the sky and ocean, you might see whales breaching at the right time of year. Contemplate the nature of the oceans constant tide. The gardens are kept flourishing by the many volunteers and are the volunteers are knowledgeable about the plantings. If you fall in love with any of the plants, the nursery is available for purchase. There seems to be a place to have a wedding if you like the gardens for a private party. At the furthest trail end going toward the ocean overlook there are flushing toilets in the rest room. These are near a big open grassy area where you might have a group gathering too. This is a bonus when nature calls to you in a different way. I always enjoy the beauty there any time of year.

The best stop on our trip to this area.

The best stop on our trip to this area. From plants to ocean what a walk. Give yourself a two day visit to see everything or better yet get a membership to support them and you can go back anytime. Great staff and group of volunteers.

The MCBG are exquisite, beautiful in every season.

The MCBG are exquisite, beautiful in every season. Leave plenty of time to visit, as there are many meandering paths and hidden treats to find. Be sure to walk all the way to the end for the dramatic show. It's well worth it.
