Excellent as base camp for visiting Yellowstone. Maintenance is noticeably well handled. They offer little services that customers appreciate, such as good free coffee 24/7. The pool is small and has no ambiance, but it serves the purpose, with a nice whirlpool on the side. Breakfast is very complete and tasty. The owners are hands-on making sure clients are comfortable.

Whatever entrance you use its a long way to sights.

Whatever entrance you use its a long way to sights. Steam escapes from side of road all round you. Do not deviat from walkways you could very seriously hurt yourself. Hotel there full of visitors would hate to stay there. Old faithful very commercial other areas are not. Makes one aware how volatile our crust is. I felt aware that if any thing happened in the park you would not get out. There are no emergency exits, ranger trails, escape routes. Felt very uneasy constantly. Forces of nature in control there We had a standing joke that there were 3 buffalo and they moved them around because thats all we saw. Take in food and drinks. Make sure you have a map its easy to miss your gateway turn off signage isnt great. Loos arent up to normal national park standard. Take toilet psper. Some rangers arent as lovely as other parks. Would not go again. Millions of other amazing parks

Enter the park as early as possible to avoid queuing at the entrance and crowds at scenic stops. Lookout for groups of photographers, I are most likely following a bear. Bison can be seen throughout the park. Take food and water with you. Many of the eateries and restaurants were closed or opened only over lunch.

We thought it was going to be a bummer to be out of the park but what a cool little town. Great hotel, good diner food, cute place to walk around. Nice pool at our hotel and good breakfast. Loved the little bears on the entrance portico.

Tip: Enter early if visiting in the summer months.

Tip: Enter early if visiting in the summer months. We purposely went through by 7AM each day and are glad that we did. By doing so, we were ahead of getting into a line and backup of cars. Another tip: Buy your pass online, then you can take a lane through this entrance that moves quite a bit faster than those where people buy their pass.

I think this is the busiest entrance to Yellowstone.

I think this is the busiest entrance to Yellowstone. Always a long line even with four lanes to enter. It's along way as well from the entrance to the loop and first geysers. Frequently have holdups for bison crossing the road. Spent three hours for a 45 minutes drive one night.

The lines to park for the Grand Prismatic pool were ridiculous. About a 45 min wait bc the parking lot is so small for the 100s of people trying to go in. Only 2 bathrooms, too. Some people parked alo g the road and walked in...long walk.
