The journey to get there was a bit bumpy, but trust us - it’s absolutely worth it! The property itself is breathtaking, with a beautiful trek that winds through lush greenery. This trail leads to a magnificent old oak tree and a river—an idyllic spot for nature lovers. We stayed in the Tunas Lodge, and let me tell you, the name is perfect. Toucans are everywhere and their favorite hangout spot is right above the bungalow. Watching these vibrant birds so up close was pure magic. The lodge is beautifully designed. One of the highlights was waking up to the sounds of nature and stepping onto the balcony to witness all four species of monkeys casually jumping from tree to tree. The owners are incredibly nice and always ready to help. What truly stands out about Maze Lodge is the owners’ commitment to sustainability. They work with local providers, ensuring that the lodge supports the community and minimizes its environmental footprint. Our stay was short, but we’re already looking forward to returning. Maze Lodge is a true hidden gem for anyone seeking a magical and eco-friendly escape in the heart of the Osa Peninsula.

David and Gootje were great hosts and always went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. On top of that , the property is amazing, rooms were very clean and neat, swimming pool and garden area is perfect to relax. Everything was built with attention to detail to create a great vibe. Highly recommended, and in my view the best option in Pavones. Words are not enough to express the great time we had here, go check it out for yourself.

Really great spot, close to the beach and not far from Pavones. Gilly was super helpful and made sure we were well installed, really great host. nice pool!

Great location in the centre of this laid back small surf community. The beach is just a few steps away. Laying on the balcony in the hammock listening to the waves was wonderful. There was a fridge in the room - very useful. The cafe staff and owners are lovely and very helpful.

Silvina is an excellent host, very helpful and responsive. We had a marvellous time and saw so much wildlife during our stay! The off-grid experience was far more immersive than a hotel, and we slept very well in the comfortable beds, with the sounds of waves to lull us to sleep, and monkeys to wake us up!

The staff is very kind and does all they can to help you and meet your needs. The guides are very professional and we learned a lot from Eli and Mario. The food is excellent, great choices on the menu! The prices of the drinks are very honest. The location for us was stunning! If you love nature, wanting to disconnect and appreciate the jungle wildlife this is THE place to be! We saw squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys and spider monkeys from our villa! The beach is very wild and waves can be very strong but it's mesmerising to sit alone and watch the power of the ocean. One morning we saw whales pass by, it was magical!!
