Guðrún Björg is the sort of host that others simply dream of being. Every single detail has been thought out, she is a warm wealth of information about the area, and someone who truly cares about making your stay and experience as magical as it could be. The meals we enjoyed were also exceptional - lamb sourced from the property, and cod caught by her sons and husband, and freshly made waffles in the morning - what more could you ask for? This place is worth every penny and the view from our cottage was just tops. Go - stay here - relax - enjoy!

Isafjordur Airport is 225 km from the property. Loved this place, yes the cabin is very small so we left our suitcases in the car but for the price and location it was one of our best stays on our 16 day ring road trip People mention problems with the hot tub but when we stayed the owner met us and explained how it worked and it was really great. Make sure you visit the turf houses nearby - next to the hotel with a pool in the distance.

Featuring free private parking, the lodge is in an area where guests can engage in activities such as hiking and skiing. What a labour of love! This little house was the nicest accommodation on this trip. Small but perfectly done out. Well provisioned kitchen with a Nespresso machine and enough coffee for the entire stay. Hob, microwave and toaster, everything we needed for a great stay. Comfortable bed and the little ladder up to the sleeping loft wasn’t daunting although someone with mobility issues may struggle. We thought it was quite exciting. Very cute property, we absolutely loved it!

Guests at the lodge can enjoy hiking nearby, or make the most of the garden. Everything, stunning location with a wide view over the valley, no light pollution (perfect to see Northern Lights). We stayed in the old house(should I say retro vintage?), luckily there were no other guests so we had it for ourselves😎. Beautifully arranged and spotless clean, rooms and bathroom are very modern, the rain shower was a high point, after driving 450km. Kitchen has everything we needed to prepare a great breakfast (it was my birthday), including free coffee and other items. Furniture brought us to another time in the past. We would definitely stay again
