Guests at the lodge can enjoy a continental breakfast. Nice and clean. Akira san the owner himself greeted me upon my arrival. He is very polite and friendly. Lodge staff tour me around the facility with a smile on her face. I had a great time and best experience during my stay.

The breakfast is amazing, we had it before a tough hiking day and it kept us going until the evening! It's also incredibly delicious and contains veggies from the garden. We'd like to thank the owner for taking good care of us and helping us have an awesome time. :)

Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area is 8.9 km from the lodge, while Nagano Station is 42 km away. Matsumoto Airport is 66 km from the property. The location next to the bus stop and walking distance to downtown was great. The owner was very patient and helpful and answered my many questions.

Our favourite thing about the property was the wonderful and welcoming host, Yuki. He was extremely helpful and it is thanks to him and his mother that Marushige is run so brilliantly. Our room was traditional Japanese style and extremely cosy - although we were sleeping on futons on the floor we were very warm. The shared bathroom was very clean and all of the other guests were very respectful. The location was perfect for both getting to the slopes on foot, visiting local onsens and getting dinner along the Main Street. One night we had dinner at Marushige and it was fantastic, we ate some very refined local cuisine - they even served us a local delicacy of horse meat sashimi (I have to admit that I could not eat it as I don’t really eat meat but my husband tried it).

The lodge offers a terrace. Taka is amazing and such a cool guy, he arranged alt accommodation for us when his place was booked and dropped us off, shuttled our luggage back and forth, boiled eggs for me, had nice yarns with him. His partner and daughter are also amazing so friendly and welcoming! They invited us to a tea ceremony to celebrate the spring coming which was an awesome experience and added bonus to the snowboarding for which we came! Highly, highly recommended if you're coming to Hakuba!!

The hosts are kind and thoughtful and gave us very good advice for dinner locally and for our next destination. Best of all, the breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. Our room was small, but we knew that when we booked so we were not bothered by that in any way. Aovely way to break up the trip from Tokyo to Kamikochi if you have a car and it is worth a visit just for the sake of being there.

The lodge offers 3-star accommodation with a hot spring bath and terrace. Amazing place! So cozy and welcoming. Staff are so sweet!

A 10-minute drive from Hakuba Happo-One Winter Ski Resort, Pension Tomato offers spacious Western-style rooms with a loft area. Free WiFi is available at the entire property and guests can reserve a private open-air bath overlooking the forest. A free shuttle is available from JR Hakuba Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away and must be reserved at time of booking. Forest views are available from the 2nd floor of the accommodation. Private Onsen, beautifully built. Onsen time scheduled for 45 minutes so everyone can get his turn without stress. Multi Onsen booking possible. The owners (a very nice couple) deserve the title of „best hosts ever“. They printed out train schedules and circled the trains we had to catch, they helped us plan a daytrip, they drove us to the next hotel, so we didn’t have to get a cab. If I could, I would even give additional stars for this pension. I will certainly return.

A 10-minute walk from Happo One Ski Resort, guests at Log Cottage Epoch can rent out an entire cottage. Each spacious cottage comes with free Wi-Fi and includes a kitchen and a living room. JR Hakuba Train Station is a 10-minute drive away. Great hosts who are very helpful in transportation on a daily basis. Getting to the ski slopes, ski rental, groceries, restaurants or even shopping was so easy as they are always available to drop and pick up. We did not have to wait anywhere. The cottage is squeaky clean and we'll furnished and very comfortable with floor, heating, hot water etc. Beautiful place, 3 mins drive from the slopes and toshi san and his wife are always available to pick you up or drop you off on time. Very knowledgeable and helpful with trains, ski rentals etc. Oh, and amazing value for money. Cottage was spacious for our family of four and the amenities are great. Hope we get this place again next season. The onsite onsen is also great.
