Sue and David are wonderful attentive and communicative hosts speaking reliable German and French. They made their house our home for 1 night. An amazing breakfast was served in the morning.
Should we ever be crazy enough to fly more than 20.000 km to get here we definetely will check in again at the Mairenui Rural Retreat. Thanks you very much.

Surprisingly good. Lodge room was small but adequate. Great park facilities. Lounges were excellent. Hot tub for the lodges was large and clean. Fireplaces everywhere, barbeques to use in Lodge area. Larger fridges in rooms would be welcome as travelling couples often need cold storage, but lounges had frisges close by. Pool was clean and welcome on a 32C day. Would recommend, especially for caravanners,.

This is an amazingly peaceful oasis, where you can chill out and enjoy the beauty of nature. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night and wished we could have stayed much longer. The facilities are brilliant and the lodges spacious and clean. If you like the great outdoors, you will love it

We came here as our holiday home accomadation we'd booked several months before let us down. Within moments of walking in the reception we knew we'd have a nice stay. The rooms were great, the reveptiom and house keeping staff went to great lengths to be welcoming and friendly. The Christmas decorations throughout were beautiful. The bar had a lovely ski lodge feel to it. The bar staff were also lovely. The free laundry was really helpful. A magical Christmas stay, and we would love to come back!

Close to Turoa ski field and ski hire shop. Loved the room - felt like a ski lodge. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony for a drink. Great to have a mini bar (paid). Bed super comfortable. Room was very warm and we didn’t need to put the heat pump on. Heating cupboard for wet clothes in the bathroom. Bathroom is a little dated but great shower and big bath. Shared Laundry on the floor. Enjoyed the breakfast, the lively atmosphere in the restaurant/pub and the friendly staff.
