Everything is immaculately clean. The hosts are very flexible and willing to help with anything. They only speak Romanian, but we could also communicate through google translate. One of their daughters speaks Hungarian very well and was happy to translate for us. It is perfectly located for exploring the area on foot, but the paved, asphalt road leads right to it. Don't waste time considering anywhere else.

Plenty of choices for indoor and outdoor activities. There is a brand new football cage in which the children loved to play in. The river side is nice and accessible in two places just right next to the hotel so the children could play there too. On one side there was a fire pit if you want to grill right there.

A barbecue is available on site and skiing can be enjoyed within close proximity of the lodge. Though the whole complex has the air of a resort from the Communist era, it turned out things are far better than I read in older comments. The room was quite big, with a nice huge balcony, and the bathroom was modernized and had a big tub. Everything was clean (though we've found two lost so ks in one of the wardrobes). We ate at Iadolina restaurant and the food was also very good, big servings well cooked. The breakfast was satisfying, too, and the waiter was very polite and prompt. There aren't many accomodations in Stâna de Vale, which is a very small resort, but ours was the right choice.
