Not only was the food (even catered for vegan) fantastic, but the ability to hike and mountain bike around this huge reserve gave us real freedom to experience the land and wildlife. From the moment we arrived, Richard went above and beyond to make our visit truly special. He was incredibly communicative leading up to our stay and took extra care to arrange thoughtful gifts for a special birthday celebration, which was such a delightful surprise. The lodge itself was charming, comfortable, and perfectly maintained. Every detail of our stay exceeded our expectations, and it’s clear that Richard genuinely cares about his guests’ experience. We couldn’t recommend Duckpond Lodge more and will definitely be returning!

Calitzdorp Railway Station is 41 km from the lodge, while Ladismith Golf Club is 11 km away. George Airport is 154 km from the property. Very nice chalet with wonderfull view. Also a good place for more than one night :) Thank you for water, firewood and the warm and cozy chalet.
