We could only stay one night but he recommended two super tours for us, restaurants etc. Lovely little town. Even got to see the hippos roaming at night. Well worth a visit.

Their kindness and attentiveness made us feel right at home. 🐾 The Dogs! – We absolutely fell in love with Layla—what a beautiful soul! We already miss her so much. Peanut, Raisin, and the little Jack Russell (whose name escapes me) were also such wonderful companions. It was a joy having them around. 🏡 The Chalet – Simply amazing! It was beyond what we had imagined—spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. 🌿 The Lodge & Surroundings – The entire place is breathtaking. The natural beauty of Oribi Gorge combined with the peaceful atmosphere of the lodge made for the perfect getaway. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience! We will definitely be back.

The staff were amazing, including our wonderful driver. We felt very spoilt. Despite the weather not being ideal we were well looked after with lined ponchos and even a hot water bottle to keep us warm

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Our stay at Babanango Game reserve at the Madwaleni River lodge and Zulu Rock Lodge was an experience we will never forget. The Lodge is a fantastic " tent" with all the comfort you can imagine. Our Diner was served as a private dinner at the libary, in the winecellar and other places. We also had a suprise breakfast outdoors in the wild, absolutly fantastic. Under the guidance of one of the best experts, mr Eduan Balt, we enjoyed the gamedrives in the morning and afternoon. We never learned so much during all those gamedrives in our whole life. Special thanks to Lungelo, Lunka and Ntombi and everyone of the staff , they were all very friendly and forthcoming, This was a once in a lifetime experience.

The pet-friendly lodge offers a barbecue. We really enjoyed our time at Tugela River Lodge. There’s so many things to do within the property like kayak, mountain bike, trails, and little farm area. It’s very clean and the staff and owner are super friendly and always willing to assist. The farm stall has a lot of supplies, so if you forget anything you wouldn’t even need to drive out. Very pet friendly as well - everything we could do with our little mini dachshund. She loved her time there and the fenced off area is big and safe. The wood-fired tub is an amazing way to wind down. The view is amazing and Bheki always comes to help fire it up ahead of time. All in all a fantastic experience as a couple, and I’m sure it’d be lovely for a family and friends group too!

The property also offers grocery delivery. The location was easy to find. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the pool was also spotlessly clean. They have a good Wi-Fi. The staff were extremely accommodating, warm and helpful (John and Panache), they made us feel at home and made sure we had everything we needed. John even went as far as helping us with our luggage on our arrival and when we leave, he also opened the kitchen for us after hours to warm our food and helped us with it. He is such an amazing person. Panache prepared the pool area for us to enjoy the view have a picnic. They provided a wonderful breakfast, they created a home away from home atmosphere. Everything was lovely and exactly as it is in the pictures.
