La Viña
Boasting a restaurant and a bar, Hotel el viajero is situated in La Viña. With an outdoor swimming pool, the 5-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The hotel has a hot tub and room service. When we arrived we felt like at home. All of their workers there are super nice, have a nice smile and they make everything happen that you feel super nice there. The standard of everything there is just higher than in any other hotel we have been so far in Guatemala. If it comes to the shower, bathroom, bed or any other facilities, it’s just great! Also the small details! And the best thing is really as already mentioned the staff there. This is one of the hotels where you will say in a few years, remember the „El Viajero“ in rio dulce, and you‘ll immediately remember which one it was.

Gorgeous riverside location, right in the heart of the jungle, surrounded by hummingbird and beautiful garden. Our room was in a separate cabin and had a private balcony with hammock and open air bathroom. Overall such a unique and memorable stay. Lovely food cooked by chef Victor, and manager Luis was wonderful - he took excellent care of us and organised our kayaking trips to the lagoons and Livingston.
The family is amazing. They are all so kind and warmhearted, especially Martha is the good soul of this place. Food tastes outstanding, reasonably priced. You can rent Kayaks and they offer you a boat shuttle service to/from Rio Dulce and Livingston. Felt more like a homestay than a hotel.
The owner of the hostel was great! He arranged everything for us. Also the food is outstanding
A great place to stay, well organized, with presence of the owners. Great dinner options and all kind of services for trips, tours, massages, ,etc. It is a luxury resort in the middle of nature, where everything has been thought off.
Beautiful setting and superb hospitality, help and advice from our host. Also very nice evening meals available. We did a great trip to Livingston and a Caribbean beach as part of our stay
Compared to most other places on the Rio Dulce, the price for both rooms and food was superb. The owner was lovely and the hotel was really cozy. You could pay 3Q to refill water and beer was a decent rate. More so we loved the access to free kayaks for sunset on the floating dock and we miss Doris the cat like hell. Xx
The laidback calm relax atmosphere. Nice staff and great biodiversity. The food and the shared dinner. One of the better hostels we ever stayed in..just realize it's luxury but basic as you stay in a remote place in nature
The hotel itself is outstanding and has great amenities. A nice common restaurant/hangout area , HOT water with good pressure, spotlessly clean bathrooms and rooms with comfy beds. Food was great and staff were helpful.
Perfect stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff are amazing and always ready to help with a smile and organised our local trips and shuttles. Location is perfect overlooking the river. Food is top quality too. Highly recommend.
