Nice walking trails (approx 2hrs so don't bring food) in the forest nearby though bears might be a concern as shown by signs of bear scratches and trapping cages. Nice cafes nearby. Dorm bed space is bigger than others with 2 dial lockers in the box bed enclosure. Get food provisions at the train station supermarket as options are limited at Tsuchiyu onsen especially during off peak season.Guest review byH2TSolo traveler

The futon was laid out every night while I was having dinner, and packed away during the morning cleaning. Dinner was excellent, the hot spring baths relaxing. Had breakfast and dinner and both were amazing. Very friendly staff that are egaer to help you. Hotel is by a river so it is a real joy to use the outdoor onsen. There’s a cafe area downstairs with plenty of areas to hang out, food you can order, and books/cards to look at. They also have a free shuttle service to and from Fukushima station. The Onsen’s are tattoo friendly! The town it’s located in is really beautiful, with small shops, restaurants, and trails to explore. It was totally worth it to stay here and enjoy the hot springs and peaceful atmosphere after a long day of excursions!Guest review byAveryFamily with young children
