Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. First roykan I've tried and not disappointed! The food is very good and generous I think, I had trouble finishing everything. The place is quiet in the middle of the forest, I had a large room and the staff are very attentive to your needs. They help you with your travel plans and you can ask them to take you by car from the station to the ryokan or other places if there are no buses.I recommend it!

Great Ryokan as it was authentic old wooden building attached to other buildings which was a maze to reach the dining room and onsen

The hotel itself is really nice. Staffs were great. They have good English speaking staffs for foreigners. Our room was nice and clean. Most likely recently renovated. We booked half-board and enjoyed dinner and breakfast in a private room, in the old building. Onsen was also nice.

A beautiful Japanese Ryokan, the meals were delicious and served in you own private meal room. The onsen was great, such a lovely property I would definitely recommend staying for a couple nights and be treated to a real Japanese experience. Ski fields only a short drive away.

Very kind staff and so accommodating with our limited Japanese. The style of this ryokan is so nice and dinner was really wonderful. We also enjoyed the private onsen since my husband has tattoos.

A bit old and tired, but that’s part of its charm. It makes you feel like you just arrived at the haunted bath house in Spirited Away. The meals were fantastic. Onsen is very basic. But it was also priced very reasonably. Great waypoint on the way to the Zao fox village, with the bus stop for the village just steps away.
