We wanted to visit the so-called Demon Slayer castle hotel. It’s out of the way so we rented a car rather than take transit. The drive itself was four hours from Tokyo. From the parking lot staff, to front desk, housekeeping and everyone there… the staff were all amazingly kind and patient. Not everyone speaks English, but there are a few. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very ryokan style (tatami) and the onsen was super clean. We had Kaiseki dinner and it was quite the experience. Food was delicious at dinner and the buffet lunch was traditionally Japanese. The stand out for us was the AIZU yogurt and AIZU maple syrup made from local chestnut trees. If anyone at Ookawaso reads this, please accept our thank you. You were all wonderful and we hope to visit from Canada again someday. Thank you for your patience with my eight year old son and our horrible Japanese.

For us, it was the most authentic Japan experience that we have had. Very nice and helpful staff. The location in the mountains was also very. Dinner was special and the breakfast buffet expansive & varied.

32 km from Aquamarine Fukushima in Iwaki, 民宿たきた館 guest house TAKITA-KAN provides accommodation with access to a hot spring bath and public bath. The property has quiet street views. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The food arrangement was a combination mostly of typical Japanese dishes with a touch of western cuisine. We stayed on New Year's Eve so we even got some special dishes on top! For drinks, there were also several home-made ones (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to choose from. The owner was extremely nice! He and his partner have a lot of international travel experience, especially in Latin America and Spain. They have very broad perspectives, so it's not a problem to stay as a foreigner even if you haven't been to Japan before. The inn of course has a natural hot spring bath, and we were able to book a time-slot to use privately. It is a remote location far away from the city, so we could enjoy some time away from the busy city and do some stargazing as well. They keep several cats which are very cute and friendly towards the guests.

Nice Room with nice view. Nice staff.

Located 11 km from Aquamarine Fukushima, Guesthouse & Kitchen Hace offers 2-star accommodation in Iwaki and features a shared lounge, a restaurant and a bar. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and luggage storage space, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The hostel has family rooms. Breakfast was individually organised and wrapped that made the whole experience a lot more unique. The whole building was an ex taxi noffice in traditional style. Had a cute little table for eating food. Don't expect spacious facilities, but if you are after traditional Japanese experience with home atmosphere, this Guesthouse is for you.

The property features mountain and river views, and is 24 km from Nihonmatsu Station. The guest house also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. The staff were out of this world. The room was incredibly spacious with a balcony overlooking the river. Futon beds were incredibly comfy. The staff speak English as well which is super helpful. The reason why this hostel is getting full stars and why they were just incredible is the staff. I had to go to hospital during the stay and they went out of their way organising a minibus to take us and ensuring that we had dinner on the way back as the local restaurants were closed. The onsen here was just remarkable - very clean. Overall, cannot recommend this hostel enough! Special thanks to Yereem and the team!

The staff was very helpfull,a big thanks to the lady that gave me needle and thread to repair my back pack,She saved my day.the Place was so cozy.i loved the sofà outside .there was also a kitchen.it s a lovely Place for a family holiday.the room Was very big for the japanese standard.the hall was nice with many healthy plant..i loved it
