The first thing he did was take a lot pictures for me before asking me to check in. He was a very professional photographer, he took from a lot of angles and backgrounds. The food and service were very exceptional. The onsen pass was also included but the best one was from the ryokan itself. You can have the cave onsen all to yourself without reservation.

If you have never stayed in a traditional Onsen Ryokan, Akaishiya will spoil you and be your reference point going forward.

The air-conditioned accommodation is 43 km from Miki History Museum. Guests can use the hot tub and the public bath, or enjoy mountain views. My spouse and I loved that there were private family baths available. The meals were also incredible and gave us a real taste of Japan.

Free private parking is also available on site. The entire property is non-smoking, while guests can smoke in the designated smoking area. Initially email communication was misleading , you actually don’t need to request for shuttle fr the San Bandai bus from Osaka. The airport shuttle stops n pickup from there. We stayed 2 nights, no need to book private, the 9Fand B2 baths were great, the interactive Kaiseri dinners were excellent, the breakfast was so good, we skipped lunch both days. Spouse making plans to go back next year. We requested the Japanese style rooms and enjoyed it despite tough getting up fr the floor due to my titanium knees

It was easy to get to the downtown district of Kobe and a bonus that it was easy access to the airport limosine bus to get to kansai

Amazing stay in the magic town of Arima Onsen, incredibly helpful staff assisted us in checking in in an amazing traditional yet modern structure. Super clean with a very large bathroom and tatami bedroom, great services provided and magic feeling of traveling back in time. Highly recommended!
