A good place to be to regain your energy. We arrived a bit too late to enjoy the facilities. However, the hotel contacted us for pre-check in and to prepare for after-hour arrival. The place is peaceful. Breakfast is everything we need.

Great location that is near enough to amenities (short drive to supermarket, petrol, food etc.) yet quiet and peaceful among trees and nature. Beds are comfortable and warm for the winter. Spacious and well-equipped kitchen so we could cook our own meals easily. Washer and dryer are very handy. Friendly owner.

We stayed in the Victorian Suite. The room was large and the king sized bed was comfortable. The room was equipped with a mini bar fridge, microwave, toaster and a kettle. Breakfast was supplied for in room self preparation - toast, cereal, coffee, tea, juice and a local spring water which was a nice touch. Location is great being metres away from the main strip in Olinda.

    The property itself was in a beautiful location up in the Yarra Valley but that is all I can say. The staff were friendly enough and one lady was outside walking her dog and it was around 11.30pm and she helped us find a parking spot and walked with us down to the main door because there were no outside lights and she had a torch so we could see where we were going.

    comfy bedroom , if not a little cramped. A little unsure regarding what was for breakfast; do we search the pantry and fridge or use what little was in our room fridge? Lovely open fire . Wonderful furnishings.. Great views, very quiet,, easy to find, good parking.

    Rod is a very lovely bloke, he also has a gorgeous big and friendly dog. Stunning and convenient location close to necessities and a short trip away from the National Park. Good on-site parking. The inside is furnished beautifully and incredibly quiet at night, we had a peaceful sleep. You will get great value for money staying here. We enjoyed our night at Rustic Refuge and will definitely recommend it to friends and family wanting a nice stay at the Dandenongs on a budget.
