You can easily walk another 10 minutes to the main square or you can take a free bus (bring the parking stub to the bus office to get free tickets for round trip for all passengers in the car). We also could cycle and the cycle to Bruges only took 20 minutes. We also travelled by train to Gent and Brussel from Bruges. Bike parking for over 2000 bikes is available at Bruges station.
