The location was right near the heart of the old town, the breakfast was amazing, the bed was extremely comfortable, and was able to be electronically adjusted. The room was very attractive with lots of thoughtful amenities such as a shoe-horn, fruit in the room and chocolates on the pillows. The room also had a small kitchenette which I did not use but might be helpful for some.

Great location at the middle of Goslar old town. You step out in to the Christmas market. The Christmas markets are open till 30-December, hence this turned out to be a great choice. Walking around the old town is seamless without any other dependencies. Plety of restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel staff was reaching out to me early enough to give proper guidelines to reach the parking area and to avoid the traffic restrictions due to the christmas market. Goslar is a must visit place in Germany and Hotel Shiefer is a great place for stay. The complimentary and minimal (not really) breakfast offered is much better than the standard breakfast offered by many hotels. We had dinner in the restaurant below which also turned out to be great.

    The room was very big with comfortable beds. We had a large bathtub. The breakfast was decent, with a good range of fresh fruits, breads, cheese, etc. I travelled with a group of 8 friends and we had 3 rooms. The staff was accomodating and ensured we had a good stay. Swimming pool was awesome, there were times when it was just our group. Also since we went on a weekend, we did not have to pay for on-street parking. Everything is nearby - train station, restaurants, we also got coupons form the hotel for bus rides locally.

    The hotel is located a short walk from the fabulous old town square with its many dining possibilities. The manageress/owner is very friendly and helpful. A free parking permit is provided for the parking lot opposite the hotel. The breakfast options are generous although the process for ordering the food is a bit quirky, but designed to cut unnecessary waste. Our bedroom and the breakfastroom were spotlessly clean. Overall, the hotel is good value for money and recommended.
