The restaurant staff were fabulous, professional, helpful and engaging and the food was of an exceptional quality. The building itself was breathtaking and the room facilities excellent. You really feel you are staying in a genuine ancient place but with mod cons. It's the perfect place to base one's self for exploring the "románico palentino" (romanesque architecture) of the area. The reception personnel are very helpful and friendly and in general, the hotel has a good vibe and comfortable rooms. The piped Gregorian chants in the reception and cloister were very atmospheric. All the staff were friendly and helpful except for the evening barman who was very grumpy!
