What an extraordinary place to stay!!! The accommodation was very comfortable (large apartment in the annexe of the castle), and the staff very friendly. The castle is very impressive, and the garden/park is absolutely stunning, probably one of the most beautiful we have ever seen (and we visited a lot of castle in the UK!): the rhododendrons and the azaleas are exceptional!! This castle, not far from the touristic roads in the Lakes district, deserves to be better known because it is an extraordinary place to visit (and to stay). We also received a lot of information from the son of the owner, clearly strongly involved and working hard to preserve this place, and providing excellent advices to see the best points of view!

The hosts were lovely and accommodating. The room we stayed in was spacious but still cosy and it was incredibly clean. The breakfast was delicious. Bacon cooked perfectly! The location was amazing. Only a 15 minute drive from skafell pike and a stones throw from the beach, which is gorgeous. 10/10 would definitely come stay again.

We have stayed at The Boot Inn a few times, and always love returning. The staff are very friendly and efficient, the rooms are comfortable, the beers are well kept, the food is delicious and the breakfast is really tasty. And it is located in a beautiful part of Cumbria. Highly recommended.

    Lovely hotel, have called in many times and always wanted to stay. It didn't disappoint , clean ,friendly and in an excellent position,room was really good with a view over the main street and across the water. Car parking was good, bar was also, breakfast was fab with a good choice. Wish I had eaten there in the evening because where I did eat wasn't very good and the Pennington restaurant looked a lot better

    Great location, lots of space, free parking, there was signal and WiFi when we hadn't expected it and two toilets which was great for 8 of us. Big comfy beds and the option of a late check out that was really appreciated!

    Location perfect in the heart of Ravenglass, very friendly, knowledgable & approachable hosts, well equipped log cabin & v nicely laid out / furnished interior. Off-street parking adjacent to log cabin & it felt very private. Would definitely stay there again.

    We loved the apartment, so spacious. Great to be able to stroll around the grounds in the morning. Saw the owl display, heron feed and falcon exercise. Both bed and settee comfortable, easy secure parking. All staff friendly and helpful. Although no cooker in kitchen it had everything we needed for a 1 night stay, surprisingly good collection of drinking glasses!! Great shower with big fluffy towels. Toiletries supplied.
