We wanted to visit Roslin chapel which is literally just over the road, so that was great. We were driving so getting in to Edinburgh is also easy - about 30 min drive depending on traffic, weather etc. accommodation has its own limited parking but plenty of on street parking outside. I got free upgrade to a larger room. Surprisingly the room stayed warm despite the large windows and the high ceilings. The bath was also hot and comfy.
