    The room was basic but clean. Very warm and plenty of high pressure hot water. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked to order. Cereals and toast also available. Good location with plenty of food outlets close by. Free car parking available near by.

    I liked the location, we liked the way the staff knew about the free parking across the road in the police station.father even went down for a pint or two in the pub downstairs.

    We loved The Oakland, the room was spacious, there was free parking and a lovely breakfast, served quickly with us feeling rushed. We liked the village especially as our car needed the air con fixing and the local garage was very helpful.

    My wife and I stayed at this family-run hotel for two nights (Friday and Saturday nights).We enjoyed a very generous and tasty breakfast. All the staff we met, on Reception and in the Restaurant, were very friendly. Despite the fact that the hotel is located in the centre of the town and that music is played in the ground floor bar till midnight on Friday and Saturday nights our room was very quiet. The free Wi-Fi worked very well in our room. The staff provided useful information about nearby, overnight, free parking.

    Parking was fine, I got one of three spaces at the rear, there is a massive car park about 50 yards away in case you don't get one. Room was okay, bed was okay, it was all okay. Ideal for a one night business trip.
