It had everything we needed: a fridge, a washing machine, each bedroom and an unsuite. It was located around the corner from a supermarket and there is a nice pub nearby - The Railway House. We called the owner because we didn't know how to lock the front door (lift up the handle) and he was lovely and friendly. Would recommend.

I was very impressed by the room, decor, cleanliness and comfort. I had the best nights sleep (with ear plugs as always) as the beds are really comfy! Ample parking which is very easy and it’s only 5mins drive into Carlow.

When we checked in, the cottage was very welcoming and warm despite a power cut earlier in the day. Cottage is very clean and literaly you have everything you need. Short distance from Kilkenny and easy to find with direct access from the main road. Comunication with the owner was great and we appreciated that even if them could not meet us at check in, them phoned later in the evening to make sure that there are no more issues with the power and that we checked in ok. The cottage view is a bonus on a sunny day :). The area is also very quiet. I will highly recommend this accomodation!!!

We had the most fun and amazing stay at Matty's Pub Apartments and would totally recommend staying there. You would never meet a more friendlier bunch of local folk or a more welcoming and laid back host. It was made quite clear from the start that meals were not part of the package but were available if required close by.Matty certainly made our time in Royaloak very special.

    We had a great stay at Avlon house for four nights. The room was clean and comfortable. Ample car parking in the grounds which was good for sometimes at B&B you have to filter unto road parking. Breakfast was delicious and with plenty of choice giving you a good to our day. Tom our host could not have done more for us. Thank you Tom We hope to return again. Eileen and Sydney N. Ireland
