This perfect coastal location is well-matched with a lovely, roomy house full of all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Even with strong winds and horizontal rain, the outlook was mesmerising, and when the sun came out, it was great to step outside for a leisurely stroll along the waterfront. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nikaho - a great base for exploring (with a car) attractions in Tsuruoka and Sakata as well as views and waterfalls around beautiful Mt Chokai.

Location in rural Akita, close to the Mt Chokai, a hiking spot south of the prefecture. Their excellent selection of local Japanese sake. Comfortable bed, and spacious enough for a night out. The cleanliness of the bed and the common toilet and shower Service-wise, everything was smooth and pleasant. The staffs were very friendly and welcoming.
