My partner and I stayed two nights in Glimra Eco lodge and this was a true pleasure. Roshani and her husband are such amazing hosts and so helpful, it couldn’t be any better. They did everything to make our stay memorable. From cooking delicious meals, to arranging a safari for us in Udawalawe, which is cheaper compared to the usual prices. Roshani also took us to a place nearby to see the beautiful sunset from up above a hill. The views from the ecolodge are amazing. One morning we could even see an elephant having a bath on the other side of the lake!

The rustic charm and quirkiness of the treehouse exceeded expectations. The staff we’re fantastic and took us on a private safari in Udawalawe (about 25 minutes away) where we got so close to the elephants. They also arranged a guided canoe trip on the nearby lake - sadly no bathing elephants this time but plenty of other wildlife to see. The evening meal we had there was perhaps the best curry I have ever eaten and all of this at exceptionally good prices. We spoke to several people who went to Yala and spent far more, saw far less and didn’t seem get anywhere near the experience we did.

This place is amazing! It’s definitely the best stay for our three-week round trip . I can only recommend it. We booked a Standard double room , Which was their basic category. But it was fantastic! The room was super clean , which is not always in Sri Lanka. They had everything more than we expected like air conditioning, hot water , mosquito nets , a fan , tea coffee, and even pool towels were provided in the room. Also best value for the money. Unbeatable! The Wi-Fi was great in the room and restaurant. Pool area also had a another Wi-Fi which was good. The pool was our favorite super Large,clean like the rest of the property surrounded with nature great to relax and in the pool even have kind of jacuzzi that you can get a massage in the water :) We also booked a Half day 7 Hour safari tour through them and it was fantastic . Price was also very good compared to other offers we had . We saw many elephants, birds and many other animals . Had a great time with the breakfast inside the park .The driver explained everything to us and was very experienced. He didn’t bother animals or go with too many jeeps . If you’re going on a safari definitely go with the hotel. The owner was very friendly, professional and had lots of experience in the industry. The rest of the staff also very helpful and available always with a smile . Thanks a lot for the wonderful stay ! We‘ll definitely come back . Highly recommend this place!

We had an incredible stay at Leel’s cottage. From the moment we arrived, Leel and his family gave us a warm welcome, personally guiding us to the beautiful rooms. Everything about our experience, from the cozy accommodations to the thrilling safari, exceeded our expectations. Leel’s extensive knowledge of the local wildlife and plants added a fascinating depth to our adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Leel’s—it was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip!

The place is very cool and clean! At first the jungle around seems a bit scary, but you r absolutely safe there! The family that has the place is very kind, they show us their beautiful garden. Welcome drinks and breakfast were so nice! Wish them a good luck with their business! Don’t miss this place!

We had a beautiful stay at Amba Kola, a slice of paradise in the Udawalawa jungle. We originally booked for 1 night but as soon as we arrived we were so warmly welcomed and loved the look and feel so much that we extended our stay. Janik and his family were incredible hosts, they treated us like family. Amba Kola is perfectly located on the edge of the National Park, which made it super easy to access safari tours. Tours are available to book onsite with their recommended tour guide, who we found to be so helpful, spoke very good English, and was amazing at spotting all of the wildlife on safari and relaying information. We saw many elephants as well as peacocks, deer, crocodiles, chameleons, iguanas, and so many different species of birdlife. Our room at Amba Kola was very relaxing and comfortable, we really loved the extra touch of an outdoor shower. We had the best food of our whole trip during our stay here, it truly was amazing. Janik’s mother, Mama Swarna, makes beautiful authentic home cooked meals, made from home grown and locally sourced fresh ingredients, and served with love. We have not stoped raving about it yet! Mama Swarna is a top rated cook and also offers traditional cooking classes. Janik, Greshan, and Sanju were so warm and friendly from the moment we arrived. Some of the most generous and happiest people we have met. They went out of their way to show us many of the local sights, and were always checking in on us with a smile to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We loved spending time petting and playing with their lovely dogs and cats, chilling in the beautiful garden, and enjoying a cool beer of an afternoon while playing a game of chess before dinner. We would not change a thing about our stay, every aspect was tastefully thought out and we enjoyed every moment, but the thing that really stood out and made our experience so special was being treated as part of this beautiful family.

This place was one of my favourites in Sri Lanka! It is quite a lovely surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as well as the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - The food: Amazing! home made food served on a banana leaf, accompanied by candle lights and the sounds of nature! - The Safari: Dimu provided us with the contact of a local who drives safari cars, and who was very nice company on my trip! He gave me a few pointers, and was very flexible with my requests. - The Massage: They also have a nearby masseuse who offers traditional Sri Lanki Ayurvedic massage in her home, with home made oils/creams.... Oh my God! It was so good, I did not want it to end! - The helpfulness: Dimu also arranged a taxi to my next destination, and made sure I was fully safe as I was travelling alone and it was quite late at night. He joined the trip to help me feel safe! Overall, totally worth it, you will really enjoy! !
