We stayed one night in abimansala resort. It was really a nice experience. They’re a really kind family. The food was really good. The location was beautiful. It’s a nice place to stay. It’s quiet, clean. They gave us some pepper to take back home. It’s near by a river that you can take a bath. It’s really a nice place to be in immersion with nature. We recommend this place.

Our stay at Royal Mountain Edge, Knuckles from 16/05/2025 was an unforgettable experience! It began with a guided hike organized by the team, tailored perfectly to our preferences. The hike was magnificent, with an excellent and caring guide. The packed lunch provided during the hike was both delicious and energy-packed—just what we needed. After the hike, we returned to Royal Mountain Edge, where we enjoyed a refreshing dip in the infinity pool followed by warm tea and local snacks. In the evening, they surprised us with a cozy bonfire, serving local brews as we warmed ourselves by the flames. For dinner, the BBQ platter was absolutely delicious and satisfying. The silence time began at 11:00 PM, but until then, we immersed ourselves in the serene forest surroundings and its enchanting nightlife. The rooms were spacious, cozy, and impeccably clean, offering a perfect retreat after an adventurous day. The next morning, we woke up early to watch the sunrise near the pool, accompanied by a hot cup of coffee graciously served by the staff. Breakfast was a delightful spread of local delicacies, including milk rice, lunu miris, chicken curry, and fresh fruits. It was the perfect way to end our magical stay at Royal Mountain Edge, Knuckles. Highly recommended for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike!

Getting there by private car was a challenge, google maps is simply not accurate. Best way is to contact resort before. The team is outstanding, booked only a day before and they managed to make us feel at home. Will come back for sure

We put 10 out of 10 because we cannot put more. The area is amazing, off the beaten-path Our host Rohana is extremely knowledgeable about his country and more, his English is very good, we could converse with him for hours. The dishes prepared by himself and Nisha were absolutely delicious. Last but not least, the room has the biggest bed that we have never seen and comfy, the view is breathtaking on the landscape, sunrise, sunset,… This place is an hidden gem for nature lovers, people seeking for authentic and genuine encounters with locals. So peaceful!! This was a true highlight of our trip. The beds in the tents were soooo comfy, we ended up extending for two extra night. We went on a really great hike with our guide Banu too who was so knowledgeable, it really topped off the experience for us. If you’re looking for something off the tourist track and really in nature this is definitely the place to book.

natural location situated in front of a waterfall. very clean and calm location. Foods and services are very good. This is not for every body people who love nature adventure will love this place. Located in the deep jungle unlike other properties that i stayed in sri lanka. very friendly staff They cant speak much in English but they are very friendly and sportive. They even treated me with toddy-A Local alcoholic Drink extracted from kithul palm.

The best hotel in Kandy and probably my top 3 life. The view, rooms, pool, restaurant is everything a 10 out of 10. Just bear in mind that to access Kandy city you need a car to move from place to place, but the experience in the hotel is worth it for sure

An incredibly well made complex, the Mountain View rooms are amazing and right next to the main dining area. The buildings are modern brutalist build and is impressively designed to combine with the nature that surrounds it. Food is of superb quality and all staff are extremely professional but still really friendly and approachable, this extends to every single member of staff, regardless of their roles.

We loved this place. The facilities were perfectly clean and the bed was very confortable. You also have a living room with sofa. The breakfast and the dinner were very good quality meals and very tasty. The staff even served us early so that we could leave for the day, they were very friendly and answering our questions and requests. We felt very welcomed. The owner was not here himself at this moment, however he always made himself present during the whole stay by whatsapp and was able to answer all our questions. He is a wildlife photographer so feel free to ask him if you are also interested in spotting fauna!! You can rent a scooter to the homestay. Thanks to the owner recommandations, we went to Dotalugala to hike a bit, and the view to get there during the scooter ride was magnificent. In a sunny days you can see the mountains. Always propre a raincoat as the weather changes unexpectedly. If you are brave enough, you can drive 3h to visit the village of Meemure, at the end of that same road. Driving there is so beautiful that time flies. It is easy to come from Kandy, go to the bus station and ask for Wegala, the destination is usually Hunnasgiriya or further.
