We had a wonderful two-day stay at Kotmale Homestay and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable retreat. The homestay is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and provides a truly welcoming atmosphere. One of the best aspects of our stay was its ideal location, making it easy to visit all the key attractions in the area. Whether you're exploring nature, historical sites, or simply enjoying the scenic beauty of Kotmale, this homestay is a perfect base. The food was absolutely delicious, prepared with great care, offering a delightful taste of home-cooked Sri Lankan cuisine. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. What made our experience even more special was the warm hospitality of the private host and their family. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, engaging in friendly conversations and ensuring we had everything we needed. Their kindness and hospitality truly set this place apart. Overall, Kotmale Homestay is a gem—a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place with excellent food and a fantastic location. The villa is so beautiful that you don't want to leave it! The location is perfect too, you have a stunning view from the terrace and from the whole building through big windows. The pool is crystal clear, the house itself is also very clean and tidy. One of the best things was staff - we could reach out to Asanka anytime and his responses were always in under a minute. He and the whole team were very welcoming and helpful - whatever we needed, they were ready to help. We also ordered food from the hotel - not everything was to our liking but it's great that you have an option of ordering something in your dining room, and they do the full service: bring food and clean after. Nonetheless we recommend creamy pasta and devilled pork. But the best food was breakfast: delicious fresh juices, fruit, omelette, sausages and grilled bread - it was always a great start of a day. Rooms are spacious, bathroom is very comfortable - there is always hot water and the pressure is good. There is water supply so you don't have to worry about buying plastic bottles. All in all, i really recommend this place, we didn't manage to hike down the river because of the weather, but there is much to do here:)

Everything was amazing. The room clean and large, the view from the room was amazing. The dinner and breakfast was very taste. The portions are very big.

We were SO happy to find this place late in the evening after a long day of driving. Little did we know what a true paradise we found until we woke up in the morning and saw the surroundings. Nothing but nature! Birds, monkeys and even deer roam the property! Amazing views on Adams peak and other mountains from the lovely balcony. Clean drinking water, a great breakfast, a clean and comfortable room, the owner and staff are wonderful - couldn't have found a better place. We will 100% be going back there for longer.
