Family run pension - the hosts are very friendly and helpful. Amazing location! This is a proper hideaway - the bungalows are located away from any road (the hosts would pick you up with their 4x4 from the village but you'll have to follow the narrow pathway also to reach a beautiful river cascade at the doorstep of your tiny house. Perfect place to watch nature (eagles, kingfishers, peacocks, magpies, barking deer). The family provides really good, home cooked meals, fresh juices and desserts. Treks and activities are also available. Highly recommended for anyone craving an adventure and to connect with nature. Thank you for everything!

Everything was excellent from the very beginning of our arrival. We were warmly welcomed with refreshing tea. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding—everything was incredibly delicious. Very beautiful place to stay for seeing the rainforest. Vini is an excellent guide and spots all kind of animals when you go with him in the park or in the village area. He also helped us with transport and other arrangements. His wife cooks the best rice and curry in Sri Lanka! The food comes always in very big portions and that for a very reasonable price. For dessert you can eat the very delicious curd with honey from the palm tree, which Vini climbs every day. The location at the river is fantastic. As a wildlife enthusiast there is always something to see in the garden. But very surprisingly there are no mosquitoes at all. The rooms were very clean and had a lot of space. From the terrace we had a nice view on the river. All in all we had a wonderful stay!

I'm a wildlife Photographer and I've been seeing Hemal as guide for several years now. He recently renovated the place as a guest house and it is fantastic. The place: The room was clean, AC and facilities are brand new and the view is exceptional! It is located a beautiful 10 minute walk from the park entrance, surrounded by green. And is directly next to the path that you would take for a night tour, which is a must in Sinharaja (And nobody is allowed to enter the Park at night). Hemal's wife is cooking and I doubt any of the luxury hotels near by will match the love and effort she put in every single meal. As it is common for Sri Lankan hospitality, they will always ask you if anything is missing or you have any special wishes and will drive to the nearest shop to buy it, without asking. The guide (Which is much more important in Sinharaja!): Hemal is known within the entire community as one who spots the most animals and knows so much about them. While all guides need to absolve basic training to become a guide, you can tell that he is truly passionate about the nature and he will tell you the English, Latin and partly the German names for most of the animals that we saw. You can also tell that he deeply respects the animals and the eco system and puts safety of you and the animals above anything. He grew up right in that village and he's is in the forest every day even on his days off so he always knows all the best spots!

The accommodation is brand new. It's decorated with great taste. You feel comfortable immediately. Everything is very clean. The outdoor area is beautiful. The owners are lovely people. The food is excellent. This is a great place to stay. The cabin is spacious and can accommodate up to 5 people and perfect for families. Offers guests plenty of privacy.
