Xul-Ha was a dream place, so much better than we could imagine! The fact that the cabanes are small (not in an uncomfortable way) positively makes you stay out more and enjoy the beauty of the lagoon that is right at your feet. Everything needed for relaxation was at hand: comfortable sofas, tan-beds and hammocks. We woke up every morning to assist to a stunning sunrise and then embarked on paddle explorations on an empty lagoon. It truly felt like a private paradise. The breakfasts were a delight start to each day. If you're seeking tranquility and immersion in Mexican beauty, look no further! We extended our stay, completely mesmerised by the charm of the place. A special thanks to Rene who welcome us with warmth (hello from the frenchies if you see the message Rene!). He's always happy to chat and assist with anything you might need. Pepos is hands down my top recommendation in the entire Yucatan!!

the vibe here is really nice! the property is run by a family which takes you in like you are part of the community (: the breakfast is basic, but good! the shower and the rest of the bathroom is great, the beds are comfy and we had our own little terrace with two chairs, a table and a terrace! we really liked it here!!

Clean, comfortable bed, good AC, small number of rental units in a lockable walled compound with covered courtyard and shared outdoor kitchen. Quiet neighborhood on secondary street. Sergio the site manager lives across the street and really took care of us. He fixed a toilet problem quickly and provided a hot/cold filtered water dispenser for a nominal 40 pesos fee. He also provided free good quality ground coffee and gave us access to a second fridge when the one in the outdoor kitchen wasn't working. We brought our own fry pan which was lucky since cookware and utensils were few. Sergio replaced the gas stove top's empty propane tank quickly. He kept the courtyard area very tidy. Xul-Ha is a small mainly undeveloped village. Best to know some Spanish. There are several 'beach clubs' with 30-50 pesos day fees for access to swimming in Lake Bacalar.

breakfast was good on both the days. there's always scrambled eggs, cheese slices, sliced luncheon meat (deli), oj, coffee, fruit bowl, bread, jam, butter, amazing corn bread, muesli, yogurt and a toaster to toast ur bread. the views are special here and the waters are perfect throughout the day and early night too. not deep at all so safe for everyone. What an outstanding location and great vibe of staff. We loved the architecture, the great chefs and their exquisite cooking, the laguna and all activities around it. Our tree house was just perfection. We enjoyed this place very much. Definitely a highlight during our three weeks Mexico trip
