From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect about this lovely place to stay in beautiful Edam. Eva was very friendly, kind and welcoming. She showed us the accommodation and introduced its features. A welcome basket of goodies and big vase of beautiful pink peony flowers awaited us. The front room has a gorgeous view of the canal, its boats, trees and pretty houses. It is a lovely space to sit and relax. The kitchen is superb, having all you could need for preparing meals and there’s plenty of room. There is a comfortable couch, a nice big table, and all is newly decorated, very clean and well kept. The king bed is comfy and fabulous, and the bathroom and shower are excellent. Fenix Edam is moments from the bus station for buses to Amsterdam. There is a good supermarket in easy reach by a comfortable, quiet walk along the canals. Edam is a fascinating town to visit with lots to see and just simply wander around. Highly recommend Felix Edam.

It’s a wonderful historic house in the village of Grootschermer with all amenities. Location is perfect for car and especially bike trips throughout Northen Holland. It’s secluded and peaceful but within 5-minute drive to De Rijp where there is a super market and good bus connection to Amsterdam Central (2x per hour). There are a number of good restaurants ( in Grootschermer, Noordeinde and De Rijp) and lots of sightseeing attractions. Marianne ang Gijs are the best hosts! Wonderful warm people that make you feel at home.

Property is exceptional. Really well furnished with high quality beds, bedding, sofas etc. Very spacious, especially the lounge. We were a group of 10 friends and had plenty of space. Pictures don't do it justice. Kitchen well stocked and had everything we needed - soap, kitchen towel, tea towels, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee. Soap in all the bathrooms. We all got 3 towels each. Bedroom layout is a little unusual but the rooms are very large and beds are very big so we found it ok to share. We didn't find we disturbed each other in the night. Beds very comfortable. The area around the property is stunning. Very beautiful. Bar outside and shops and cafes across the canal. Small supermarket around the corner, larger one 5 minutes walk away. Bakery on the way to the bus station. Lovely pizza restaurant 2 minutes walk away. Very easy to get in Amsterdam Centraal. Only a 25 minute scenic bus ride away (314). Buses are very regular and you simply tap on and tap off with your debit/credit card. Bus station only 5 minute walk from property with information screens telling you next buses. Buses run early and late. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially in a group. And it was lovely to see such a different place compared to Amsterdam
