Had a great time at Jungle Base Camp with Hukum and his family! The lodge is basic but there is everything you need : fast internet, room with private bathroom, food is great, especially the chapatis, common area for chilling. Location is really close from the jungle and the park entrance! I had safari with Hukum during three days, we were really closed to see the tiger as we heard him roar in the bushes 30 meters from us, but You'll see plenty of other animals too! Hukum and his family were really helpful and did everything they can to help me. Special thanks to Hukum's son, 6yo, who made me play plenty of games at the lodge. Will come back for sure!

Amazingly brilliant resort. Loved the fact that the focus is on the forest and wildlife, not the usual luxuries. No wifi in the room and that is really good. The food was just excellent - clean, fresh and delicious. I am vegan and the chef took special care to accommodate that constraint. The lodge manager was very courteous and helpful. The resort itself is small and one feels like one is in the middle of a forest. Its right next to the core zone so not much habitation around. Special mention of Reshmi in Sales/Reservation who was exceptional in coordinating my travel from Kathmandu including the airport pick ups and drop. I am sure i will be back here soon.

Shortly after booking a room Shardul reached out to us and provided us with travel information. Once in Nepal our plans changed and Shardul was very helpful in picking us up and accommodating us an extra night. Upon arrival we immediately felt very welcomed and comfortable at this lovely homestay! Everyday Shardul and his family provided us with delicious Nepali meals made from the fresh vegetables and fruits from their garden. Thanks to the preparation and attention to detail there was always enough variety of food even on the long safari days. Our absolute highlight in Bardia was going on jeep and walking safaris with Shardul himself. With his professional experience and a bit of luck on our side, we were fortunate to spot the elusive tiger! Shardul’s competence in his profession and passion for wildlife conservation made us feel safe while out in the jungle. We regret having to leave and hope to be back in the future! Budhi and Sonja are excellent an attentive hosts. There good communication before my arrival. The atmosphere is very welcoming, with a lovely garden with a fire pit to keep the chills away. The food was delicious and I ate outside in the garden every day. The Homestay is set in a rural location with many authentic farms/homesteads within walking distance. There was a vast range of activities from walks to various safari's and all arranged by the Homestay. I was lucky enough to see a Tiger along with many other animals and birds on one of the walking safari's in Bardia National Park. The room was clean and spacious and I really appreciated the ethical/sustainable attitude towards waste here.

Wild Planet Eco Retreat has free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Bhurkīā. Among the various facilities are a bar and water sports facilities.

I stayed at this accommodation a couple of nights. Pappu and his family were wonderful hosts, they were very attentive and cooked fresh, organic and delicious food! Pappu is also a very special guide: he could spot multiple animals that my eye couldn't see at first, among which even a tiger!!! But also several species of deer (swamp deer 😍), otters, and paradise flycatchers were an amazing sighting and we were lucky enough even to see a rhino! I miss the wonders of Bardiya... Thank you Pappu dai for your hospitality and guidance!!
