It was away from the city, quite secluded in the mountains, but 7 kms to the city. Only house where the owner has created 3 such accommodations.

We liked everything Matakauri had to offer. The staff were more like friends and treated us like family. Sitting in the lounge in front of the fireplace enjoying the view of the mountains was absolutely stunning. AND the food was fabulous!!

The location was stunning, overlooking the lake and mountains. Booked a room with twin showers, which was an added treat :) 3 heaters, including a towel heater, was a real plus as it was chilly at night. The kitchen facilities were ample enough to share with other visitors easily, as were the 2 large living rooms. Full, free laundry was also great, as we needed it by this point of our trip. 10-minute drive to town.

The Spire Hotel is a stylish boutique hotel located in the heart of Queenstown. Just 2 minutes' walk from the shores of Lake Wakatipu, it offers rooms with free WiFi, a balcony and a gas fireplace.

Everything was amazing with our stay in the spire hotel. Firstly, the reception staff was really professional and helpful, she even initiated to help us decide on where to have for dinner and booked the table for us. Secondly, the room is massive, there’s even a separated section for the wardrobe. The water pressure is amazing, which is really important to us. The fireplace makes the room so warm and cozy. They have smart tv as well, with Netflix and YouTube installed. All their non alcoholic beverages at the minibar are complimentary. They serve amazing breakfast as well, not the buffet style, but ala carte, and you can choose to have it in your room or in the restaurant. We had dinner at their restaurant on our first night, the food was unexpectedly great, and the bill came so much more reasonable than other restaurants we went during the trip. Everything was just spectacular.

We can highly recommend the accommodation. The room is lovingly furnished and the view of the lake is fantastic. The owner is very nice and for breakfast you can enjoy muffins with a view of the lake.

The Canyons B&B offers a hot tub and free private parking, and is within 4.7 km of Skyline Gondola and Luge and 11 km of Queenstown Event Centre.
