Kind and generous management gave this place a heart! Breakfast was so sumptuous with a lot of nutritions and satisfaction to start our day of hikes and cold adventures! This standalone spacious modern cottage looks newly renovated & is very well-maintained with 2 bedrooms and comfortable beds. Well-located in Bjorkliden with pleasant views and very near to Abisko National Park. Very cozy & immaculately clean cottage amidst peaceful & picturesque surroundings that makes us feel like home. Big comfy sofa & TV (with Netflix) in the spacious living room for relaxation. Very nice & big bathroom (heated flooring) and well-equipped kitchen with an impressive variety of interesting spices. We park car directly in front of the cabin door for easy loading & unloading of luggages. Host is very thoughtful & has included several items in the cottage eg indoor slippers & turned on the indoor heating before we checked in to make us feel warm & welcome. Cottage exceeded our expectations & everyone in the family loves it. Nearest supermarket with a wider variety of groceries items is located at ICA Nära Riksgränsen. We also managed to catch beautiful northern lights (shades of green and red) in Bjorkliden & Abisko National Park during our 2 nights' stay. We will definitely return for a different season & stay here again!

We stayed at Hotel Fjället for 3 nights just before Christmas 2024 and absolutely adored this place. The location is stunning and unique yet easily accessible by night train from Stockholm. Upon arrival, an employee met us at the station to fetch our luggage. We walked up to the hotel (about 10 minutes), absorbing the atmosphere of the place. Sitting on top of a hill, Hotel Fjället overlooks lake Torneträsk and the iconic mountain Lapporten behind which we saw the sun rising around 9am. Our room enjoyed a mountain view as well. The bed was comfortable and besides the basics (wifi, TV) I liked having tea/coffee facilities in our room. There are hiking trails and ski slopes around the hotel. You can rent Wintersport equipment at a small shop next to the hotel.Just before Christmas, it was rather calm. Apparently, the ski season starts later. You'll find a pretty well-equipped gym and two Saunas. After our hikes at -18°C we really enjoyed the Sauna:) The hotel's common areas were very cozy with fireplaces, Christmas decoration and incredible views. There's a bar, a shop for the most important groceries and a good restaurant. All the staff was really nice, friendly and much more communicative than I am used to from Southern Sweden.
