We had a really lovely stay at the Bamboo Beach House - it was easy to find, extremely comfortable (soft bed and good pillows, not Thai style!), nicely decorated and in a beautiful location. Tim is a truly outstanding host who goes above and beyond to help his guests settle in, give recommendations, and even to arrange car/motorbike rental. He very kindly took us to the supermarket to stock up on our first day, and later took us to the local clinic and pharmacy in town too! Daisy the dog is an absolute joy, so friendly and well behaved! The beach is pristine and has a perfect sunset view. Hardly anyone else sharing the beach, just a few locals and maybe some of Tim’s other guests.

Lovely family run property with five bungalows with different themes. Comfortable bed, hot shower and very kind hosts! They reserved a table at the excellent RaoDang seafood restaurant for us and even walked us there so we didn’t get lost. On finding out we were leaving early, she made us a breakfast which we had on our balconies overlooking the pond. She also liaised with our onward transport so our pick up was flawless. There was a large fridge in the room and this would be great choice for a few nights as a base for anyone touring around with their own transport. It’s not in the centre of Khao Lak town but has plenty of shops/restaurants nearby and is close to the harbour where many of the day trips leave from. We’d definitely return!
