Thanks to the whole team! James, thank you for these unforgettable morning and afternoon rides. You immediately felt that he was a very experienced and funny ranger! Keep it up! We were able to see four of the big five. The lodge is very luxurious. Please remember that you live in the "bush" and you can sometimes encounter insects and other creatures while showering under the open sky. :-) But that's exactly what makes it so special! we loved everything - from our arrival up to our last breakfast. The staff was extremely nice, they know your name, diet, … felt super welcomed. You can tell that Julie and Riaan love this place and take very good care of it. Julie was very helpful, even months before our arrival she made sure we were fully prepped to stay at their camp. The tents are very nice, very comfortable and you even get a hot water bottle to stay warm at night! We had 3 game drives and decided to do the walking safari with Riaan (so knowledgeable!) on our last day. The rangers are so friendly and very respectful to the wildlife. We got to see all the beautiful animals, including lions with their cubs, and we learned so much along the way! We loved the whole family vibe and can only recommend this place. You will not regret coming here. ❤️

Arriving at Leeuwenbosch is like stepping back to a time of gracious living. The house was built in 1908 and has large rooms tastefully decorated and full of antiques and family portraits. Frint of house Kerry welcomed us and gave a guided tour of the property. Her husband Steve was also on hand to make sure we were comfortable. Our guide Ouboet was exceptionally knowledgeable, not only in fauna and flora, but also in the area’s history. All the staff were smiling and courteous.

The highlight was the tranquillity and nature of the accommodation. It is also very beautiful, stylish and cozy. We immediately felt at home. Ingrid is a brilliant hostess and gives good advice. She is very friendly and helpful. Both breakfast and dinner are delicious. Even though the access road to the lodge is a bit long, you can easily reach activities such as Addo and Schotia Safari.

Food was absolutely wonderful. Staff were amazing - friendly, efficient and professional. Having spent countless days in the South African bush, this was a step above it all. To have a game ranger like Martin conducting our twice daily drives was the “cherry on the top”. His lovely attitude, enthusiasm and incredible knowledge makes the Safari Lodge a definite return location.

Set against a cliff above the Bushman's River valley, Woodbury Lodge is located in the malaria-free area of the Amakhala Game Reserve.

The accomodation, the Ranger (Greg), the whole staff, absolutely everything was outstanding At the game drives Greg was like a lexicon. He could answer all questions and always asked us what we would like to see! During the drives Greg found the Best places to stop for drinks outside the landcruiser The food was really delicious and the drinks always cold. Super clean and safe place! We will come back for sure.
